Fines for Failing to Comply

From the 1st of July in 2021, when a new, renewed or varied contract is signed on a Waipatu rental property, all Healthy Homes compliance work need to be taken care of inside of 90 days.

Waipatu Healthy Homes Compliance Timeframes

Tenancies that were signed between 1 July 2019 and 30 June 2021

  • The insulation of the ceiling and underfloor is mandatory throughout Waipatu and New Zealand rental houses where it is reasonably practicable to install.
  • A Healthy Homes Intent to Comply Statement as well as an Insulation Statement, and an Insurance Statement should be included in any new, renewed or varied tenancy agreement.
